| A close relative of the domestic pig. Wild boards are native to Africa, Asia and Europe. They were introduced into the USA for hunting. Boars have a varied diet, feeding on everything from fruit, leaves and eggs to mice, lizards, worms and snakes. Males use their tusks for fighting during mating season, with the winner getting the opportunity to mate. Although they can be large in size, they're not skilled hunters and have many predators, including wolves, foxes and crocodiles. |
