| Python Bivittatus |
| The Burmese python is one of the largest snakes in the world. Although native to the jungles and grassy marshes of Southeast Asia, since the 1990s these snakes have invaded Florida. When young they live in trees but as they grow they move to ground dwellings. They eat mammals and birds and are excellent swimmers. These snakes are constrictors, crushing victims with their giant bodies. They have been known to kill humans but these attacks are rare. |
