Komodo Dragon | Varanus Komodoensis |
These giant, stockily built lizards are found on the islands of Indonesia. In addition to razor sharp claws and serrated teeth, their saliva has over 50 strains of bacteria which causes death by blood poisoning. Komodo's have an incredible vision, they can see objects as far away as 300 metres and they also have an excellent sense of smell. What makes Komodos especially dangerous is that they will eat humans but their regular diet consists of deer, pigs, carrion and water buffalo. | |
