| The box jellyfish has one of the deadliest venoms in the animal kingdom. Human's stung by these creatures have been known to go into shock or die from heart failure. Curiously, vinegar is a good antidote to the poison. Box jellyfish stun or kill their prey, fish and shrimp, with their dozen tentacles. Each tentacle has 5,000 stinging cells. Found in the coastal waters off Northern Australia and throughout the Indo-Pacific, blue and transparent, they are difficult to spot. |
