| Primarily found in the forests of southeast Russia, over 90% of Siberian tigers live in the mountain region of Sikhote-Alin. Incredibly athletic, they can run at 50 mph, climb trees, jump 30 feet and are such strong swimmers, even crocodiles aren't safe. Obligate (true carnivores), they depend solely on nutrients found in animal flesh. Tigers will pull their prey to the ground and either snap their spinal cord with a bite or clamp their jaws around a victim's neck. They hunt elk, boar, bears, dear, rabbits and fish. |
